A long time champion of the National Lottery, Don Foster MP was pleased to learn that three Big lottery Fund grants were awarded in Bath between 30th September and 30th November 2012.

Every year BIG gives out millions of pounds from the National Lottery to good causes. The money goes to community groups and to projects that improve health, education and the environment

In the latest round of grants the following organisations benefited:

- The Live Wire Theatre Company received funding for Creative Workshops for The Three Ways Special School Bath and Bath Mencap

- Saint Barnabas Church Parochial Church Council received funding to revamp its hall floor and redecoration

- Twerton Infant School received funding for their project entitled “playpods for perfect playtimes” which provides breakfast clubs & after-school activities

Commenting on the grants, Don said:

“For many years now, the Big Lottery Fund has been funding wonderful projects the length and breadth of the country. Their success as a funding provider is rooted in the fact that their experienced regional teams understand the needs of differing communities.

“In Bath, I know that these organisations will thrive as a result of Big Lottery funding. Ultimately, Bath residents will be the beneficiaries. I would encourage others to take a look at the Big Lottery fund website and apply for grants”
