Don Foster MP has backed the End Violence against Women Campaign, which aims to tackle the underlying causes of violence against women. The campaign has launched a viral video which aims to challenge men’s underlying perceptions of gender and identity.

Each year across the UK 3 million women experience violence, and there are many more living with the legacies of abuse experienced in the past. The report by the End Violence Against Women Coalition, entitled ‘A different world is possible: A call for action to prevent violence against women and girls,’ makes wide-ranging recommendations to government, public bodies, local authorities and schools to take urgent action to prevent violence before it happens.

Commenting Don Foster said, “Violence against Women is still a persistent problem in the UK and within my own constituency. I support the work of the End Violence against Women coalition who aims to tackle this problem at its very roots. I am currently in contact with the Department of Education exploring the logistics of how the report’s recommendations can be implemented”
