Don Foster MP today backed the student group, Green Vision’s project to reuse surplus food waste in Bath to create nutritious healthy food. Green Vision piloted a project today at Green Park Station. They gave away free soup to the public that was made from food that would otherwise have been wasted by shops and community groups.
Green Vision is a youth movement aiming to make Bath and North East Somerset not only more sustainable but also a more pleasant place to live. They describe the ethos of the group as, “we create, educate, organise and act”.
Commenting Don Foster said, “It is inspiring to see young people in Bath looking to take positive action to challenge the problems we all face. Food waste is a real serious problem in Bath. It is great to see these students from schools across BANES working together to make a real difference to their communities.
He continued, “Also, the mushroom soup was delicious not to mention their plum chutney”.
