Don Foster, Liberal Democrat MP for Bath, is looking to recruit an intern for his parliamentary office in Westminster.

The internship will begin early June 2011 and ideally lasts for four to six months.

Candidates should possess:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure;
  • An interest in politics;
  • Awareness of the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Help with preparation for speeches, appearances in Parliament and meetings;
  • Assist on long running media initiatives and general press work;
  • Develop contacts with key stakeholders;
  • Respond to correspondence and assist with administrative tasks.

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See www.w4mp.org/html/msvo/main.asp for further info.

Deadline: Tuesday 17th may. Interviews will tkae place on Monday 23rd May.
