| Don says " I want to be the leader of the Liberal Democrats because I believe passionately in our principles and policies. Paddy Ashdown has taken some risks to get these values listened to by the labour government and I would like to continue that work; positive co-operation combined with strong independent thinking. This approach will stamp a Liberal Democrat flavour on British politics and take us from being a party of protest to a party of power. | |
| We need to build on the solid foundations we have established and create a future of which we can all be proud. We are a great Party of great energy and ideas and if you have the courage to be ambitious for Britain, I have the vision to ensure the Liberal Democrats play a key role in the future." | Don Foster has a clear vision for the Liberal Democrats as a confident successful, independent Party.
