With hundreds of touted tickets available for the FA Cup final this weekend, the Liberal Democrats have revealed that touts will be operating with impunity.

The UK Football Policing Unit, the unit responsible for ticket touting in football, has written to Donand admitted that it does not target ticket touts at games, allowing the touts to operate freely.

Commenting, Don said:

"Despite the fact that touting football tickets is illegal, the police and CPS are doing hardly anything to stamp it out.

"Real fans desperate to get tickets will take little comfort from this failure to enforce the law. However, it does explain why there have been so few prosecutions in recent years.

"How can anyone believe that the Government is going to get tough on touts when the police aren't willing to tackle this issue."
