Don Foster outside Weston village post office.

Commenting on the decision on Post Office closures to be announced on Thursday May 29th, Don said,

“We campaigned very hard over the course of the local consultation. We know that the Lower Weston branch fits all the criteria to remain open, especially as Post Office Ltd admitted that they didn’t take the Western Riverside development into account. We also collected around 2,500 signatures against the closure.

“But I also know that it is rare to save a post office. I hope that the consultation team have listened to the arguments that myself, local councillors and residents put forward. But residents can rest assured that I am prepared to take the campaign to Downing Street should we not get the right result.

“I hope as many residents as possible will come and join me today at Lower Weston and Bear Flat. This decision is so important for the local community and residents can have their say on the result.”
