Congestion Charging Success Should Be Rolled Out Across UK

Commenting on the first six months of congestion charging in central London, Don Foster MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary, said: "In just six months, congestion charging in central London has already proved a success. "

"What a pity the Government didn't have faith in the scheme earlier. Now Ministers must work with councils across Britain to identify congestion hotspots and introduce similar schemes.

"Elsewhere, as in London, money raised from congestion charging must be used to boost public transport alternatives."
