Road Safety Ads Should Be Year-Round

Commenting on today's launch of the Government's new road safety campaign aimed at children, Don Foster MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary, said:

"TV ad campaigns have proved to be an effective way of cutting child deaths and injuries on our roads.

"I welcome the progress the Government has made towards cutting this
needless loss of life.

"But Britain's record for child pedestrian deaths remains among the worst in Western Europe, and with 2,828 deaths and serious injuries last year, there remains a lot to be done.

"These road safety ads should be year-round, not just for the new term."
