Foster Backs Wellsway Residents

Bath’s MP, Don Foster, has called for a review of the decision to close the gaps in the central reservation on Wellsway, which was made by Conservative Executive Member for Transport, Cllr. Sir Elgar Jenkins.

Commenting on the decision, Don said,

“I am particularly concerned at the apparent lack of consultation with local residents.

Many people, who will be seriously effected by these changes, only knew anything about it as the work was about to start. That’s not good enough.

“I have written to Sir Elgar and made my views clear. I have asked that he ensures a wider discussion takes place, to ensure that the views of residents are not only heard, but addressed.

“I will be meeting with residents to listen to their views, first thing on Monday morning.”

ENDS.
