Connex Service Cuts: Last Gasp Of Failed Company
Commenting on reports that rail operator Connex is to cut 40 services a day and reduce the number of stations that other services stop at by the end of this month, Don Foster MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary,
said:
"Had these proposals been part of a well-planned strategy following detailed consultation, they might have been supportable. But the cuts are the last gasp of a failed train operating company whose franchise is to be axed in three months.
"Connex has let down rail passengers so badly that it's bizarre it's been allowed to make these cuts before details of the planned, new south-east franchise have been settled."
