Commenting, Don said:

"It is clear to me that a number of glaring errors have been made in the Network Change Programme, which I have highlighted in my submission to the consultation team.

"There is overwhelming evidence to suggest that Lower Weston Post Office should never have been considered, with the Bath Western Riverside development not having been taken into account. This, coupled with the hilly terrain linking this Office to the alternatives, must surely see the office remain open.

"I hope that the Post Office can admit that they have made a mistake over Lower Weston. If it is still closed, then people will see this as a sham consultation.

"Bear Flat Post Office is part of a thriving local community, which it seems that the Government and Post Office Ltd have no interest in.

"I am deeply concerned that elderly residents who use Claremont are going to seriously struggle negotiating the steep hill between it and the alternative.

"The community shop in Bathford has made a serious offer to host basic postal services, and I hope that the Post Office will assist them with this.

"I have collected nearly 5,000 signatures on my petition to Save Bath's Post Offices; however I would strongly urge residents to submit their own objections to the consultation."
