Cllr Simon Allen and Gabby Durham have outlined their three pledges to residents.
Simon, who famously won the Radstock by-election last July, has been keeping residents informed regularly with his Focus newsletters and updates in the press. He commented:
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working hard for local residents since being elected last year. There are a lot of community-spirited people in Radstock who want the best for the town, and want B&NES Council to take them seriously.
Because of this, Gabby and I are publishing our ‘Three to See’. These are three things that we hope to continue to do if we are successful on election day.”
Simon and Gabby’s ‘Three to See’ are:
1. LISTEN - Simon and Gabby are committed to listening to the residents of Radstock. They will continue to hold weekly surgeries to hear residents views and concerns.
2. COMMUNICATE - Simon and Gabby will continue to update residents through their regular newsletters, blog posts and updates in the local press making sure that local residents know what is being done is what they want to be done.
3. REPRESENT - Simon and Gabby will work hard to represent Radstock at the highest level at BANES Council making sure that the concerns of the Radstock community are heard and taken seriously.
Gabby Durham, who is a local Scout Leader and is campaigning with Simon to achieve more road safety in the town, added:
“These three pledges have largely been put together following conversations with local residents. Since last summer the Lib Dems have been knocking on doors in Haydon, Clandown, Tyning, Writhlington and the centre of Radstock to gauge public opinion.
On the whole, people tell us they want councillors who communicate with them, listen to them, and represent their views.”
